Pay Information $2,143 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Duration: 10 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) experience required. License: RN License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, EFM, NRP required. Must-Have: NCC-EFM or RNC-OB preferred. Description: Registered Nurse needed for Labor & Delivery/Postpartum. The facility has 130 licensed beds and provides care to approximately 1500 patients per year. The unit is equipped with 29 beds and one operating room suite. Patient care involves high-risk diagnoses such as postpartum hemorrhage, diabetics requiring insulin drips, premature rupture of membranes, and placenta previa. Common gynecological surgeries include hysterectomy. Patient ratios are based on acuity. CNA support is available with 1-3 CNAs per shift, usually one being a student technician. Required skills include proficiency in all aspects of LDRP patient care, circulating for cesarean sections, and newborn care such as heel sticks, 24-hour testing, neonatal abstinence syndrome scoring, and lactation support. Department support includes one OB technician per shift, 1-3 CNAs or student technicians, a receptionist, a charge nurse, a case manager, and 24/7 physician coverage. Technology used includes electronic medical records, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, fetal monitors, and warmers for newborns. The role requires floating to other facilities within the region and scope of practice as needed. Scheduling allows for up to six approved days off, excluding holidays. Shifts are scheduled on a six-week cycle. Scrub color is navy blue or business casual during travel to and from work, with hospital-issued scrubs worn while on duty.
