American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) night shift position requiring pediatric cardiac ICU experience and active SC or compact RN licensure.Job Details•Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU), a 29-bed Beacon Award-winning specialty unit,•Care for pediatric patients with congenital heart disease, cardiac surgery, VADs, heart transplant, and cardiac catheterization cases,•Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am,•Patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2, based on acuity,•Required to work four weekend shifts in a four-week schedule and participate in a holiday rotation,•Floating required to meet hospital needs within scope of practice,•Epic charting system is used; prior Epic experience is preferred,•All beds are monitored for continuous patient surveillance,Job Requirements•Active SC or multi-state/compact RN license required; SC license in hand strongly preferred,•Minimum 2 years of pediatric cardiac ICU experience required,•PALS and BLS (AHA only) certifications required,•CV and pediatric ICU experience required,•VAD experience highly preferred,•ACLS (AHA) preferred,•First-time travelers are accepted,•Locals are accepted at a different pay rate with a 60-mile radius rule for travel eligibility,•Previous permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being considered as a traveler,Additional Information•Responsibilities include providing advanced nursing care for pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions requiring surgical and medical interventions,•Unit provides specialized therapies including ECMO, CRRT, ventilatory and cardiac support, and pediatric palliative care as needed,•Team includes RNs, Patient Care Techs, Unit Secretaries, Respiratory Therapy, Pediatric Dietitians, and Pharmacists,•Block scheduling may be available at the manager's discretion,•All RTO (requested time off) must be provided at submission and is subject to approval based on unit needs,•Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November),•Scrubs are required per unit policy,•Modules must be completed pre-start and are included in orientation
