Pay Information $2,623 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Women's Services Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of experience required License: Required Certifications: BLS ACLS NRP STABLE Must-Have: 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience Experience with mother-baby care Ability to attend deliveries and complete newborn care Experience with magnesium administration Charge nurse experience preferred Description: Join a dynamic team specialized in Women's Services. We provide care in a unit with 14 LDRP beds where patients remain in the same room throughout their stay. There are two OR suites available for C-sections. Our average birth rate is approximately 90 births per month, totaling around 1,200 births per year. The department follows established staffing standards to ensure quality patient care. Ratios are 1:1 during labor unless paired with cervical ripening patients, with postpartum care at 1:3 for couplets. The unit includes a maximum of 4 triage patients, with resource nurses available as needed. Nurses are responsible for titrating drips including Pitocin and magnesium. Our unit is supported by an on-site OB hospitalist and neonatal nurse practitioner available 24/7. Anesthesia services are also available on-site continuously. Respiratory therapy is accessible for troubleshooting equipment like vents and CPAPs. Our shifts may include floating to other sites within the service area. Scrubs are required to be changed at the beginning and end of each shift. Compliance and charting assignments must be completed prior to starting. Travelers must be prepared for varied scheduling and possible assignment changes. A no fingernail polish policy is in effect, and acrylic or gel nails are not permitted. We offer a supportive environment for travelers, who often extend their contracts and return for additional assignments.
