American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an 18-week Telemetry Observation position in an acute care setting requiring recent telemetry experience and specific certifications.Job Details•Work in a 16-bed Observation unit specializing in telemetry within an acute care hospital environment,•Patient population includes chest pain patients (rule out MI), post heart cath (no sheaths), stable pre-CABG, post-interventional radiology and endoscopy procedures,•Common medications managed include non-titration Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Labetalol,•Hospitalist covers call; respiratory therapy and pharmacy are available 24/7,•Unit is an ER extension with charge nurse present 24/7,•Patient care technicians are staffed per census,•No ventilators, BiPAP, or CPAP on the unit,•Use of Cerner EMR; experience with Cerner is preferred,•Schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts, every third weekend, and required participation in major holiday rotation (work 2 of 3 major holidays),•Floating required to any telemetry or Med/Surg floor, with the possibility of floating to a sister facility,Job Requirements•Active RN license (state or compact) must be in hand at the time of consideration,•Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); pending certifications not accepted,•Minimum of 2 years recent telemetry RN experience within the past 6 months,•Telemetry and acute care experience required,•Critical thinking skills are essential,•Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 24-48 hours of offer (2 attempts maximum),•Must pass a hands-on simulation lab on day 1 of orientation (single attempt),•Driver's license required for verification of compliance with 50-mile radius rule,•Must provide specified professional references for consideration,•May not have worked as a permanent employee at any affiliated facility in the past 12 months,Additional Information•Care for patients with cardiac and post-procedural needs, including monitoring telemetry and medication administration,•Two days of on-unit orientation provided plus 12 hours general orientation,•Navy scrubs required,•Participation in holiday scheduling rotation with core staff,•No alcohol withdrawal patients unless more than three days out,•Testing and vaccinations may be required in accordance with hospital policy,•Travelers who do not pass required testing or simulation are ineligible for future positions at affiliated facilities for six months,•50-mile radius rule applies; candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility,•First-time travelers are eligible for this position,),•hash,:• ,
