The Human Resources Manager will oversee HR functions at the plant, aligning with corporate standards and local programs to drive employee engagement, safety, and organizational development. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on HR expertise, promoting a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace.

Responsibilities

Leadership
  • Contribute to plant management as a key HR advisor
  • Support business strategies through HR solutions and initiatives
  • Participate in leadership teams and ensure compliance with laws and policies
  • Provide coaching on employee relations and performance issues
  • Engage with local HR communities to benchmark practices
  • Partner with the business to address HR and organizational needs
  • Develop and monitor HR policies aligned with company values and legal requirements
  • Analyze HR metrics for continuous improvement
Labour Management & Employee Relations
  • Foster positive labour/management relationships
  • Represent management in employee relations
  • Administer labour agreements and negotiations
Health, Safety & Environment
  • Implement HS&E standards and manage injury claims
  • Report incidents and maintain safety records
  • Promote safe practices and regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate regulatory inspections
Training & Development
  • Develop training plans based on needs assessments
  • Deliver training and collaborate with corporate development teams
Recruitment & Selection
  • Manage hiring processes and onboarding
  • Maintain applicant pools and compliance with regulations
Performance & Talent Management
  • Guide management on performance practices
  • Implement talent identification and development tools
Total Rewards
  • Monitor compensation trends and ensure competitiveness
  • Support benefits administration and communication

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree, HR certification preferred
  • 5+ years in a manufacturing HR role, automotive experience desirable
  • Experience with unionized environments and contract negotiations
  • Strong HR management knowledge and influence skills
  • Experience in global matrix organizations and HRIS systems
  • Excellent communication skills and training ability
