Area Director of Revenue Management

The Director of Revenue Management is responsible for optimizing total hotel revenue through strategic rate, inventory, and reservations management. This role integrates two core functions: revenue management and reservations operations. The Director will lead forecasting, pricing, group inventory strategy, and digital distribution while also overseeing the daily operations of the Reservations Department, ensuring efficiency, service quality, and maximized occupancy.
Responsibilities
- Optimize RevPAR through forecasting and effective selling strategies across all segments.
- Conduct price/product analyses and competitive rate positioning.
- Collaborate with Sales and Revenue teams on group pricing, ceilings, and strategies.
- Lead weekly yield meetings and develop seasonal strategies.
- Monitor all distribution channels for competitiveness, parity, and availability.
- Maintain and analyze STAR reports, performance data, and segment mix.
- Develop accurate short- and long-term forecasts.
- Ensure system compliance and accurate rate configuration in PMS and RMS.
- Generate and present daily, weekly, and monthly reports for all revenue channels.
- Manage group inventory and coordinate with Sales to ensure timely and accurate room block setup, pickup tracking, cutoff dates, and rate adjustments.
- Communicate occupancy trends, promotions, and operational notes to team members.
- Provide support for occupancy forecasts and booking pace reporting.
Qualifications: Education, Knowledge, Training & Work Experience
- College Degree
- Minimum two years' experience in the hospitality revenue field.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data and trends and make informed strategic decisions.
- Aggressive, outgoing, and self-motivating individual with pleasant personality.
- Current experience in revenue management position with responsibility for either a large hotel or multiple properties.
- Thorough knowledge of the GDS and Extranets
- Familiarity with PMS, RMS, GDS, OnQ, Delphi, and reservations technologies preferred.
- Understanding of revenue management techniques and strategies.
- Experience managing a team and training on performance standards.
