What Youll Be Doing as a Press Brake Operator:

  • Set up and operate a 16 X 600-Ton CNC Hydraulic Press Brake with NC Controllers
  • Occasionally required to use a 12' x 3/4" plate shear and a 5/8" capacity plate roll.
  • Set up and operate hydraulic brake to bend, bump roll, arc, or straighten metal plates or sheet metal and structural shapes to blueprint or sketch specifications.
  • Lays-out or details layout on work stock from blueprints.
  • Uses forklift, jib cranes and 10 and 20 ton over head cranes to align layout marks to dies.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines.
  • Grease and oil all moving parts and check seals for leaks.
  • Log heat and P.O. numbers on all crane parts.

What Youll Need to Have as a Press Brake Operator:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of professional hands-on experience setting up and operating a press brake, particularly with Mild or Raw Steel
  • Must be able to run a 600-ton CNC hydraulic press brake equipped with NC Controllers
  • Must be capable of working with mild/ raw steel and heavy materials
  • Experience operating forklifts, jib cranes, and 10 and 20-ton overhead cranes to align layout marks with dies is necessary.
  • Must be proficient in reading blueprints and layouts.
  • Strong math skills (including fractions and decimals) are essential for calculating bend allowances in thicker materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail and someone who is very safety minded.
  • Must be able to follow safety policies and must be willing to wear PPE and respirator. All departments are required to wear eye and hearing protection, steel-toed boots with built-in metatarsal guards.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
