License: Must meet applicant eligibility requirements for ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) within 12 months of hire date. Certifications: AHA BLS required. Must-Have: - Associate's degree or higher required. - Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with an emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty, or a JRCERT accredited educational program with an emphasis in radiologic technology, or completion of a Paramedic training program. Description: Under supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services. The role aids medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and diseases. Utilizing entry-level knowledge, responsibilities include providing safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care under routine or emergent conditions in various care settings. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians. Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to achieve clinical outcomes and operational goals. Utilizes specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques to perform diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures in accordance with established guidelines. Conducts post-procedure reviews to confirm all required elements are completed and that technical quality meets established standards. Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems, entering technical data/findings to prepare for physician reporting. Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines. Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote continuous improvements in care. Performs other duties as assigned.
