NSC Staffing has immediate direct hire Tool & Die Maker opportunity in Pewaukee, WI Job Title: Tool & Die Maker Reports To: Manufacturing Manager Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin Status: Full-time, 1st Shift, Non-exempt Pay: $58,000/annually Key Responsibilities Fit and assemble parts to build, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools using both machine and hand tools. Set up and operate conventional or CNC machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to precise dimensions and finishes. Review blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan operational sequences for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies. Verify part dimensions, alignments, and clearances using precision instruments including calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators. Visualize and calculate required dimensions, tolerances, and assembly specifications. Layout, construct, and maintain small- to mid-size stamping and forming dies. Build small- to mid-size plastic injection molds and aluminum die cast dies. Perform troubleshooting and problem-solving on tool and die issues. Load workpieces, align accurately, and operate grinding machines to meet blueprint specifications. Operate (and occasionally set up) precision grinding machines such as surface, external, internal, or centerless grinders for production work involving standard recesses and contours. Select appropriate grinding wheels for a range of materials and finishes. Work with close tolerances and complex part setups, including irregular shapes. Inspect finished workpieces for defects and conformance to specifications. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements High school diploma or GED required. CNC programming and setup experience preferred. Mastercam experience required. Completion of a technical school program (2 years) and/or 5+ years of professional manufacturing experience preferred. Strong mathematical aptitude and blueprint reading skills required. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively and interact positively with colleagues across all levels of the organization. Proficiency with standard office equipment. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Physical Requirements Regularly required to talk and hear. Frequently required to sit, use hands to handle objects/tools, and reach with arms. Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand/walk on concrete floors for extended periods.
