CNC Machinists - 2nd Shift

We are actively seeking experienced CNC Machinists for our second shift. This is a non-exempt full-time assignment, located in Torrance, CA, and reports to the Manufacturing Manager.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set Up and Operate CNC Machines
- Read and Interpret Blueprints to understand and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to set up machines accurately and assess geometric tolerances.
- Set up jobs by loading programs, selecting fixtures, part holders, and tooling to machine parts to specifications.
- Prepare and operate CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and routers, to manufacture parts according to specifications.
- Monitor Production and continuously monitor the machining process to ensure that parts meet quality standards and specifications.
- Perform Maintenance by conducting routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise during operation.
- Monitor tools and attachments to ensure parts are properly cooled and lubricated.
- Ensure full compliance with the Company's DOT Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.
- Must maintain compliance with safety standards.
- Maintains a clean work space.
- Report on all production issues to the lead and manufacturing manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
These CNC Machinist positions are for our 2nd shift operation. They also receive an 8% shift premium (of their base pay).

- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or an apprenticeship in machining is preferred.
- Proven experience as a CNC machinist or operator, with understanding/familiarity of CNC programming and operations preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in reading technical documents and blueprints, along with mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions to ensure high-quality output.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the machining process.
- Basic mathematical skills include, but are not limited to, adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for calculating material fabrication.
- Must be capable of using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, dial bores, thread gauges, and basic measuring tools.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and surface finishes related to blueprint requirements.
