Rolled Metal Products
The Packer is responsible for operation of equipment used in the packaging of products at Rolled Metal Products, Inc. (RMP).
Responsibilities and Duties
As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the packer position. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.
Safely drive forklift and operate crane to pull and move coils and skids within the warehouse. Operator packing line conveyor to transfer coils from slitter to the banding station. Band and package material for shipping according to customer requirements. Assemble skids and other shipping containers as needed. Measure dimensions and gauge material with micrometer. Confirm material specifications on inventory tags for orders being shipped. Stage material for shipping according to bill of ladings. Generate inventory tags to be placed on material being received. Enter inventory tag data into computer system. Obtain appropriate signatures on bill of ladings. Use precision when operating tools such as tape measures, micrometers, nibblers, and calipers. Maintain shipping supplies. Keep immediate work area clean and organized throughout the day. Adhere to all RMP safety rules, regulations, and quality standards. Highschool diploma or equivalent Goodwritten and oral communication skills Good reading and math skills Basic computer skills Good organizational, problem-solving, andtime management skills Abilityto measure using different tools Abilityto work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction Strongwork ethic; self-motivated Operatewith high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, suppliers, and management PreferredQualifications
