VDC Engineer

to join our Digital Delivery team in Phoenix, AZ. The role of VDC Engineer supports and develops Digital Delivery practices leveraged by project teams in the office and the field, supporting model-based project management, virtual construction workflows, and construction technology deployments. Provide leadership to project teams, drive project requirements, primarily focused on supporting process self-perform. Essential Functions Process/Yard Piping:

Understanding and knowledge of best piping practices for underground, aboveground, gravity, and pressurized piping systems. Piping types, schedules, connections, materials, lining, coatings, fluid services, material compatibilities, insulation. Equipment, piping, supports, valves, manholes, and appurtenances associated with process systems. Isometric and orthographic drafting practices. Survey coordinate systems. P&ID, Process Mechanical, and Civil/Yard Piping drawings. Reviewing relevant submittals for data to support the modeling effort. Water/Wastewater/Industrial Waste Piping Systems.

Intermediate understanding and knowledge of:

Concrete lift drawings. Embeds and penetrations wall pipes and wall sleeves encasements. Rebar drawings. Water stop, rebar, stay form, forming systems.

Produce models, drawings, layouts, and sketches of engineering designs, construction fabrications, and quantity takeoffs using BIM/CAD software. Collaborate with design professionals and project participants during modeling, coordination, and construction processes. Develop and maintain 3D model content in support of self-perform Process Systems. Develop detailed construction models and produce fabrication Iso’s and orthographics for process piping systems. Knowledge of construction principles and practices required. Support on-site construction team efforts in implementing VDC/Digital Delivery applications such as Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality. Educate project team on software and workflows used throughout design and construction. Read and understand contract documents and drawings. Participate and lead BIM-based trade coordination with project construction teams and subcontractors. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field plus 5 years of related experience; or Master's degree plus 4 years of related experience. Hands-on experience with Autodesk BIM tools (Revit, Plant3D, Navisworks) for at least 4 years. Familiarity with project scheduling, including baseline schedules, subcontractor schedules, and schedule analysis. Experience with reality capture tools (laser scanning, drone data, point clouds). Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Excellent communication skills and customer-facing experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Autodesk Plant3D, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Autodesk BIM 360, Assemble, and CMiC software platforms.
