Rehoboth United Methodist is seeking an enthusiastic individual to serve as part-time Music/Choir Director and accompanist. Rehoboth is located in the Dentsville area of Columbia and is a diverse fellowship of believers. Responsibilities : Development and support of the music program. Regularly scheduled weekly rehearsals for choirs. Any extra rehearsals for seasonal programs, special programs, individual rehearsals with soloists and ensembles. Planning and preparation to include personal rehearsal time for choral music for Sunday morning services and other special programs. Plan, along with pastor, for weekly service; accompany choirs and congregation during weekly worship services. Planning and coordination with the pastor for special events/ programs including but not limited to Ash Wednesday, Advent, Holy Week services, Thanksgiving Service, Revival, Vacation Bible School, Christmas Eve, Christmas morning, All Saints Day, children’s plays/ programs, Music Camp, etc. Music for weddings and funerals must be coordinated with pastor. if unable to play, must contact and coordinate with outside musician.
