The essential functions of this position include: Planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing community activity programs. Interviewing residents and families to determine their spiritual, social, recreational, and emotional needs and interests. Handling administrative duties such as completing forms, ordering supplies, and maintaining activity records. Preparing community newsletters. Organizing, scheduling, and supervising activities based on residents' interests. Selecting and supervising volunteers, families, and community agencies to enhance the activity program. Supervising staff and collaborating effectively with department members. Visiting residents to assess their preferences for programs. Encouraging resident participation in activities. Creating a homelike atmosphere and maintaining community involvement. Transporting residents to appointments and outside activities. Documenting observations and plans of action. Participating in care plan meetings. Performing emergency procedures such as CPR. Developing and updating policies and procedures for the Activities Department. Participating in surveys by government agencies. Coordinating with other departments to ensure quality care and equal opportunities. Working with the Executive Director to address complaints and grievances. Preparing operational reports and recommendations. Reviewing and revising activity care plans regularly. Maintaining confidentiality of records and information. Performing tasks in accordance with community policies and procedures. Additional Details
