About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Academic Affairs to join its senior leadership team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and executing the academic vision, driving innovation in educational policy, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, equitable academic programs that meet accreditation standards. This role involves strategic direction and operational oversight of all academic functions, supervision of academic deans and senior academic officers, and fostering a culture of faculty excellence. The Vice President will also lead the development and evaluation of the institution's Academic Affairs Master Plan, partner with Student Affairs to enhance the student experience, and work with Finance and Administration to ensure appropriate resource allocation for academic priorities.
Applicants must have an earned doctorate, a minimum of five years of full-time teaching experience in higher education, and a proven track record of senior-level academic leadership. The role requires experience in collaborative work with faculty, staff, and unionized environments, as well as familiarity with accreditation processes, curriculum development, instructional technology, and assessment. The ideal candidate will be a data-driven, visionary leader with strong analytical skills, a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and exceptional communication abilities. Preferred qualifications include a background that merits a tenured faculty appointment and prior experience in a community college or similar access-oriented institution.
