Job Description Working under the direct supervision of the Director of Engineering, the Sr. Project Engineer will investigate suitable technologies to develop, procure, and implement capital projects that enhance or add capability and capacity in line with the strategic direction of the company. This position plays a key role in supporting King’s Hawaiian Supply Chain, Plant Operations, and Innovation Team’s critical initiatives. Employees may interact with their leader regularly for guidance and feedback. Most non-routine activities require prior approval, but routine decisions within the role's scope can be made independently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as subject matter expert in various technologies used in industrial manufacturing environments.

Provide technical guidance to junior project engineers.

Evaluate new equipment and production techniques to ensure King’s Hawaiian remains at the forefront of bakery technologies.

Identify opportunities for upgrading existing equipment to meet quality and efficiency standards.

Lead studies on process & equipment alternatives and Pilot Equipment Validation through Design of Experiments (DOE).

Refine and enforce engineering policies, procedures, and standards.

Prepare Capital Expenditure Requests (CER) for projects, ranging from equipment upgrades to plant expansion.

Implement projects within schedule and budget, ensuring compliance with safety, food safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.

Manage project execution from start to commissioning and operational handover.

Control project finances, including purchase orders and invoicing.

Provide progress updates to engineering leadership and finance.

Supervise contractors and external partners, ensuring safety and adherence to company policies.

Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.

Basic Qualifications

BSc in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or relevant experience.

Experience managing risks, changing priorities, and ambiguity.

Ability to apply technical standards and interpret data.

Knowledge of USDA/FDA, BRC/AIB, OSHA, GMP standards desirable.

Interpersonal skills and cross-functional influence ability.

Minimum 5 years of progressive engineering experience, preferably in food manufacturing or CPG industries.

Additional Qualifications

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Understanding of statistics and data analysis techniques.

Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit.

Willingness to travel up to 30%.

Compensation Range: $145,000 - $195,000
