Overview
FischTank PR is seeking a Public Relations Account Director (Tech). This role is for a PR and communications professional with 6+ years of experience, preferably at an agency or in-house in a communications or PR-focused role, supporting FischTank’s B2B/B2C Technology practices. The AD serves as the point person on day-to-day account and junior staff management while playing a major part within media outreach and strategy, developing/writing content, and supporting other client campaign objectives. ADs are expected to run accounts autonomously with oversight from FischTank’s Senior Team, ensuring positive outcomes for clients and the FischTank team. This position is suited for a self-starter who is ambitious and eager to learn from more experienced colleagues and our roster of clients. Reports to Senior Account Directors/VPs Own account and junior staff management and media relations strategy and execution on 6-8 accounts Handle tasks including pitch writing, byline writing, press releases, media pitching, review of junior staff content, overall account strategy, etc. Drive the success of the account by positioning teammates for success while delivering your own results Achieve media results on behalf of clients by building account management strategies for yourself and junior staff Showcase strong client and media communications skills, including email correspondence, weekly/bi-monthly calls with clients, agenda preparation, in-person meetings and media event staffing, and transparent dialogue with clients Develop ideas that support client initiatives, including media campaign ideas, social media strategies, content marketing, value proposition development, and more Relentless pursuit of client outcomes Qualifications
6+ years experience at a PR agency or in-house working with B2B/B2C/emerging technology companies (experience with AI companies strongly preferred) A strong network of reporter relationships including top tier and trade outlets Initiative to achieve media results that impact client business Strong writing skills for PR outcomes (press releases, bylines, op-eds, blog posts) Open-minded, growth mindset, eager to learn Desire to grow professionally in the PR space Receptive to constructive feedback Works well in an open, collaborative environment Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google (Search + G-Suite) Fundamental understanding of business use of social media Benefits
