Role Details This role offers hybrid telework with in-person work required at least two days per week. This is subject to change based on operational needs.

Office location: 1810 16th Street, Sacramento

Responsibilities

Provide classification policy guidance relative to the state’s classification structure, including position allocation, establishment of new classifications and revisions to existing classifications.

Contribute to the compensation program, including salary analysis, pay differentials, red circle rates, special salary adjustments, and salary relationship charts.

Consult and review departmental layoff or position reduction plans and the CEA program.

Provide support to the Labor Relations Division.

Minimum Requirements

STAFF SERVICES MANAGER I

— $7,172.00 - $8,910.00/month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable. This position is eligible for a 5% pay differential (Pay Diff 248).

STAFF PERSONNEL PROGRAM ANALYST

— $7,172.00 - $8,910.00/month

Describe your experience with the Personnel Management Division's Delegation Program (Career Executive Assignments, Position Allocation and Appointments, and Unlawful Appointments).

Describe your ability to provide consultation to staff on a variety of classification and pay matters.

Describe specific ways you have supported diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

What is your experience managing human resources projects?

Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate s relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Personnel management experience in either a control agency setting or in a line department, as well as familiarity with principles of classification and pay, salary setting, and requirements of the Dills Act is preferred

Ability and experience in providing clear direction to team members, supporting their work and growth, and successfully administering human resources programs

Project management ability and experience in achieving outcomes on schedule

Strong managerial, leadership, coaching, and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks while addressing changing priorities

Strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders
