As a Systems Engineer Consultant youll serve as the trusted technical advisor to a diverse range of small and mid-sized businesses, taking ownership of their infrastructure and delivering expert-level service across systems, networks, and cloud platforms. What Youll Do
Serve as the primary technical lead for multiple client environments, maintaining servers, networks, desktops, security tools, and cloud platforms.
Build trusted relationships with clients and act as their go-to advisor for IT strategy, planning, and issue resolution.
Architect and implement infrastructure upgrades, network deployments, and cloud migrations.
Lead and manage projects coordinating timelines, resources, vendors, and deliverables.
Run status meetings with clients and internal teams to track milestones and maintain transparency.
Solve a wide range of issues—from everyday support tickets to critical outages and high-level architecture decisions.
Roll up your sleeves for hands-on work including hardware installs, firewalls, backups, patching, and performance tuning.
What You Bring
3 - 5 years of experience in IT consulting, MSP support, or system/network administration
Working knowledge of business IT environments, including:
Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP
Virtualization tools (VMware, Hyper-V), Remote Desktop Services
Firewalls and networking (Fortinet, Palo Alto, routing, VPNs)
Backup, security, and disaster recovery solutions
Microsoft Azure or AWS cloud platforms
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physically able to handle computer hardware as needed
Based in Austin or nearby, with reliable transportation for client visits
