As CIO at First National Bank, a trusted and community-rooted Maine-based institution, you’ll shape the strategic direction of technology, cybersecurity, operations, fraud, and innovation across the bank, all while working with an engaged executive team and a strong internal staff. With modern systems in place and leadership support behind you, this is your chance to lead digital transformation with real impact.
This is a hybrid role. While based in Damariscotta, ME, we understand location can be a barrier - which is why flexible in-office presence is supported.
What You’ll Lead
Enterprise strategy for technology, cybersecurity, operations, fraud, project management, and facilities
The strategic integration of AI, machine learning, automation, and modern core banking systems
Cross-functional collaboration as part of the Executive Management Team, Strategic Planning Committee, Technology Steering Committee, and Enterprise Risk Management Committee
Operational oversight including vendor management, disaster recovery, IT governance, compliance, and cybersecurity
Operations: Through supervision of Operations Management and staff, ensure that the operations departments—including Fraud—are working efficiently and in a cost-effective manner while maintaining a focus on the bank’s customer-centric philosophy.
Facilities: Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to evaluate and approve purchases of the bank’s supplies, furniture, and equipment. Plan, coordinate, and supervise the remodeling, construction, and maintenance of all bank buildings.
A supported transition from the outgoing CIO, with legacy knowledge and smooth onboarding

Direct reports: Information and Cybersecurity Analyst, Loan Operations Manager, Deposit Support Services and Fraud Manager, Technology Manager, Facilities Manager, Administrative Assistant
Indirect reports: Project Manager, Technology Staff, Loan and Deposit Operations Staff, Fraud and Facilities Teams
What You Bring
15+ years of progressive IT experience with 7+ years in senior leadership
Banking or financial services experience strongly preferred
Expertise in digital transformation, enterprise IT, core banking platforms, cybersecurity, and innovation leadership
Familiarity with compliance frameworks including FFIEC, GLBA, BSA/AML
Vision for integrating emerging technologies with customer and business value
A collaborative, people-first leadership style
