Overview

Quanta is an AI-powered accounting and finance platform that fixes the frustration of stale and slow financial data. We automate accounting from the ground up to provide live, contextual views of the business so decisions can be made with instant clarity. Our goal is to enable every business decision to be made with instant and complete clarity. About us: We are a tight-knit team of 13, working fully in-person in downtown San Francisco. Our team has built accounting systems at Affirm, ledgers at Stripe and Robinhood, and started companies from the ground up. We understand our customers and care about the future of finance we’re building. Design at Quanta

Great design is about clarity, trust, and system-level coherence. We treat interfaces as tools to help users feel in control of complexity. You’ll find engineers who care about product feel, a team that respects taste, and space to shape scalable systems. We are cultivating a design culture that delivers craft and clarity at speed. What you’ll do

Lay the foundation for design at Quanta – help establish our design system with components, patterns, and principles that scale with the product and team; shape design culture, tools, and workflows. Drive end-to-end product design – own UI/UX across the full product lifecycle, from early concepts to high-fidelity mocks and implementation details; collaborate with engineers, founders, and domain experts to explore problems, define requirements, prototype solutions, and ship polished experiences. This role will be central in shaping what we build and why. Invent new ways to interact with finance data—and shape what we build – develop a deep understanding of the accounting and finance domain; surface real problems and opportunities to influence the roadmap; identify user needs and design intuitive ways to explore and act on complex financial data. Build and scale user understanding – lead user research, synthesize insights into usable frameworks, maintain persona documentation, onboard new teammates, and ensure design decisions stay grounded in user needs. Move fast and learn faster – balance speed and polish with pragmatic trade-offs to ship quickly and learn through iteration. Within your first days, demo and iterate on designs with the team. What we’re looking for

5+ years of experience in product design, ideally in a fast-paced startup or small, high-impact team; fluent in Figma. Skilled in prototyping complex user flows using both low- and high-fidelity tools. Strong product judgment – deep thinking about user needs, edge cases, and long-term simplicity. Self-directed and focused in ambiguous environments – comfortable navigating uncertainty, setting direction, and juggling priorities to deliver value quickly. Excellent collaboration skills – clear communication and cross-functional partnership. Fluency in complex domains – ability to ramp up on technical or abstract spaces and translate into intuitive experiences; strong systems thinker. Comfortable running user research – ideally led interviews and discovery, crafting personas and turning insights into decisions.
