Senior Director of Business Development
in Rochester, NY. Direct and manage all aspects of the business development department Collaborate with leadership to optimize corporate revenue and staffing for the business development department Plan and grow the department through development, coaching, and training Evaluate and improve workflows and operations within the business development function Identify corporate partnership prospects locally, regionally, and nationally Lead corporate partnership presentations; build meaningful relationships with partners to support short- and long-term plans Prospect, conduct sponsorship meetings, and close partnerships to achieve revenue goals Strategic planning to renew and expand corporate partnerships Oversee marketing strategies for new business, renewals, and growing partnerships Foster strong relationships with partners through high-quality customer service Manage partnerships, renewals, retention, proposals, planning, execution, and proof of performance Oversee servicing team and fulfillment of corporate partnership agreements Collaborate with other departments to improve performance and partner offerings Develop new inventory to support additional revenue streams Maintain weekly internal and league reports on prospects, accounts, revenue, and partner interactions Manage budget and forecast for the business development department Focus on relationship sales, development, and customer satisfaction Perform other duties as assigned by the President & General Manager Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include sales, marketing, business, or sports management 5-7 years in business development/corporate sponsorship sales, marketing, media, or advertising 3+ years leading, coaching, and developing a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office Knowledge of CRM systems (KORE / Microsoft Dynamics) preferred Experience in corporate sales prospecting platforms a plus History of generating corporate partnership/sponsorship revenue Experience selling integrated sponsorship packages using assets across in-venue, digital, broadcast, and social media Proven ability to develop compelling sales presentations, campaigns, proposals, and contract negotiations Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills Ability to work in a high-visibility, high-pressure environment Attention to detail, grammar, and proofreading; dependable with initiative Strong time management, organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills Ability to work independently and in teams; track record of developing talent and building team culture Ability to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays Compensation and Benefits
Salary is based on location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure, and contract requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is
$80,000 - $100,000 USD .
