Overview
VP, Chief Compliance Officer
will provide strategic leadership, direction and administrative oversight of the Corporate Compliance Program for the health system and affiliates at
Children’s Mercy . This position is responsible for developing strategies to assure the health system and its employees maintain the highest level of compliance with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, internal policies and procedures and that behavior in the health system and its affiliates meet the Corporate Code of Conduct while maintaining effective controls, accurate financial records and efficient operational processes.

Responsibilities
Serve as the health system and affiliates Chief Compliance Officer and maintain an effective corporate compliance program to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations as well as all health system policies and procedures.
Lead the systems audit program and maintain an effective internal audit program that as an independent appraisal function examines systems, procedures, and internal controls in order to maintain efficient, effective and cost-sensitive operations in a manner consistent with the health system's mission and those of its related entities.
Provide effective leadership, vision and management of Audit and Advisory Services and Corporate Compliance staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field and 10 or more years experience in order to have a well-rounded background of education and experience to determine the level of internal controls and policies that should be in place to protect assets and achieve compliance with applicable government regulations.
Or Master's Degree in Healthcare Law, MHA, or related degree and 7 or more years experience in order to have a well-rounded background of education and experience to determine the level of internal controls and policies that should be in place to protect assets and achieve compliance with applicable government regulations.
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) Preferred
Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) Preferred
Remote Work This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
