Business Development Rocket Lab’s Business Development team connects government and commercial customers with our mission solutions spanning launch and space systems. They work with new and existing customers to understand needs and develop tailored solutions, building relationships with customers and internal engineering and operations teams to drive results. Role
Global Government Launch Services Lead Based in Rocket Lab’s Washington, D.C. site, the Global Government Launch Services Lead captures government revenue through business development and sales to enable sustained operations and growth. You will support the management and expansion of key government customer accounts for Electron and Neutron launch vehicles, and Dedicated, Primary Rideshare, and Rideshare launch services. What you’ll get to do
Develop and execute proposal plans, including analyzing RFPs, creating outlines, and building compliance matrices. Execute the US Government Launch Services strategy, business development, and sales. Support proposal development and coordinate mission performance requirements with technical teams. Execute winning strategies to rapidly grow new government business. Utilize professional networks, business development techniques, and product knowledge to market launch services for the Electron and Neutron launch vehicles and mission services. Collaborate with the marketing team to formulate strategy for aerospace industry conferences and networking events. Identify and capture new US Government customer accounts. Maintain up-to-date government satellite market analysis and inform senior leadership and technical teams of trends and services. Host important customers during strategic company events, launches, and press announcements. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or business discipline. 5+ years of technical experience in the aerospace industry. Familiarity with global government space markets and aerospace technology. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD US Government Secret security clearance. Position requires up to 60% domestic and international travel. Nice to have
Active TS/SCI clearance. Master’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field. Leadership/management experience and strategic business planning in aerospace or high-tech industries. Experience with proposal development and familiarity with business capture. Thorough understanding of global government space markets and strong written and oral communication skills. Additional requirements
Position requires up to 60% domestic and international travel. Vision and physical requirements including the ability to sit, use a computer, and communicate verbally and in writing. Must be able to commute to buildings. Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, and moderate noise. Base salary and compensation details: base salary range is $105,000 – $155,000 USD (D.C. area) with additional rewards, including equity and benefits as described in the company’s total rewards package.
