We have an opportunity for a driven Project Engineer focused on site civil design to support our team. The successful candidate will have a passion for sustainable design, client relationship management, and directing quality management processes to keep work on track, within scope and on budget. This role includes delegation of tasks to engineering support staff, leveraging team strengths for successful project delivery. The candidate should be prepared to work on projects across the country and internationally.
Responsibilities
Plan, design, and oversee civil engineering projects at various scales (airports, bridges, buildings, channels, dams, harbors, irrigation systems, pipelines, power plants, railroads, roads, sewage systems, tunnels, and water supply).
Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and topographical data to plan and design projects.
Calculate cost and feasibility of projects using engineering techniques and mathematics.
Prepare or direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs.
Inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to plans, specs, and safety standards.
Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering documents as needed.
Qualifications
Typically 6+ years of industry experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering - Civil and/or Environmental
Experience with Site Grading, Earthwork Calculations, Road Design, Drainage (Calculations & Reports), Utility Layout & Sizing, Technical Report Writing
Experience in assembling and collating plan set packages and providing redlines for drafters
Works independently under general supervision; exercises sound judgment on design decisions
Ability to work with multiple site base files oriented in different coordinate frames and varying units
Preferred Skills
Experience with water and wastewater system design, onsite soil testing, design calculations, and permitting procurement
Knowledge of graphics programs (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.)
Certifications or sustainability-oriented accreditation preferred (LEED, PE, etc.)
Knowledge of GIS principles

Analyzes soil, terrain, hydrological, and geologic data to plan and design projects
Calculates cost and feasibility of projects based on data analysis and engineering techniques
Prepares or directs preparation of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, and environmental studies
Inspects construction sites to ensure conformance to plans and safety standards
May use CAE software to prepare design documents

Compensation The wage range reflects various factors including skill sets, experience, licensure, and organizational needs. A reasonable estimated current range is
$112,000
to
$137,000
per year. The range may be adjusted for geographic location. This description is not a guarantee of compensation and is subject to change.
