About the Opportunity Plaintiff-side employment law firm in Lower Manhattan is looking to add an
Associate Attorney
to its growing litigation team. This is an excellent chance for motivated litigators with
2–3 years of experience
to step into active caseloads (50–60 matters) and gain hands-on responsibility, while being mentored by senior associates and partners. Prior employment law experience is not required but is preferred. Candidates with 2+ years of litigation experience and strong research and writing skills are desired.
Our attorneys don’t just draft behind the scenes — you’ll work directly with clients, appear in court, and develop the skills to grow into a lead attorney role. Many of our most successful lawyers started here as juniors and are now managing their own cases and clients.
What You’ll Do
Manage 50–60 matters under the supervision of a senior associate and partner (partner acts as mentor, not day-to-day filer).
Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
Handle discovery, depositions, motion practice, and court appearances.
Keep contemporaneous billable hour records for case tracking.
Advocate for clients with a business-minded approach, driving cases forward.
Build the skills and experience to grow into a lead/case manager role.
What We’re Looking For
JD and admission to practice in New York.
2–5 years of litigation experience (employment law preferred, but open to strong litigation backgrounds and those who excel at research and writing skills).
Exceptional research and writing skills — academic rigor is key.
Federal court experience is helpful.
Drive to advocate for clients and grow into a lead role.
Base salary:
$110K–$140K
depending on experience.
Commission:
2.5%
of attorney’s fees (typically results in
$25K–$30K
annually).
401(k) with 4% firm match
20 days PTO
CLEs, bar registration, and conferences covered
No weekend work, absent an upcoming trial or urgent motion.
Why Join?
Hands-on litigation experience in federal and state courts.
Direct client interaction.
Clear growth path to becoming a lead attorney.
Supportive, close-knit team with strong mentorship and work-life balance.
