Overview
The University of Miami Health System invites applications for the Associate Professor of Clinical - Interventional Radiology. The Department of Interventional Radiology is one of the largest and highest-volume IR departments in the country, offering a full spectrum of IR clinical procedures, training and research while serving over 21,000 patients per year. We collaborate across campus with Liver Transplant, Hepatobiliary, Radiation Oncology, Urology, Orthopedics to provide multidisciplinary care.
Responsibilities
Interpret interventional radiology imaging studies and perform interventional procedures.
Assist in the development and implementation of new and innovative interventional procedures.
Be responsible for evaluating patients both pre- and post-intervention and contribute to the expansion of outpatient clinics for interventional procedures.
Supervise performance of technical personnel.
Evaluate and consult new referrals and follow up patients in IR clinic.
Exercise quality assurance as related to the practice of interventional imaging.
Provide interventional imaging consultation as requested.
Provide emergency patient care as required in the setting of an Interventional radiology practice.
Be part of the on-call schedule in Interventional Radiology.
Assume administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Chairman related to the practice of interventional imaging.
Participate in teaching activities related to interventional radiology as required in:
Residency/fellowship training programs
Medical student education program
Technological radiology educational programs
Continuing medical education programs
Serve on Departmental, University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Medical Center committees and provide service to the same in other manners as requested.
Participate in research activities as an investigator and mentor.
Qualifications
Medical Degree from an accredited Medical School (or foreign equivalent).
Florida Medical License or equivalent.
American Board of Radiology Certification.
Completion of an ACGME-approved Fellowship Program in Vascular Interventional.
Locations and Clinical Practice As assigned by the Chairman, the faculty may provide service at UM/JMH locations including Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, UHealth Tower Hospital, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Lennar Foundation Medical Center, UHealth Doral, UHealth SoleMia, and satellite centers in Broward County (Plantation and Deerfield Beach). The Desai Sethi Medical Center may also host clinic activity.
