Senior Electrical Power Engineer role at HDR. HDR is an employee-owned company focused on inclusive, empowering environments. The Power Generation team is growing, and the Senior Electrical Power Engineer will help clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects, serving as Owner’s Engineer and/or Advisor. Locations

Preferred locations include: Austin, Ann Arbor, Boise, Bismarck, Billings, Charlotte, Chicago, Denver, Irvine, Fort Worth, Houston, Honolulu, Kansas City, Madison, Minneapolis, Missoula, Omaha, Phoenix, Portland (OR & ME), Sacramento/Folsom, San Diego, Seattle, Spokane, St. Louis, Syracuse. Responsibilities

Lead power generation design projects for utility-scale power and renewable energy, including protection and motor control design, power system studies, and balance-of-plant design (raceway, lighting, grounding). Serve in traditional Owner’s Engineer or advisory roles; mentor junior engineers; manage client relationships; lead proposal writing, fee development, and work breakdown structure in response to RFPs. Direct activities of engineering professionals, act as a mentor, and collaborate with Project Managers and Project Controllers on project reviews as needed. Travel less than 10% for meetings with clients, vendors, and site visits. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis (ABET-accredited). Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical power generation design; design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation. Strong experience in power generation and distribution, protection and control design, grounding, and related balance-of-plant systems; experience with lighting and life-safety systems. Ability to mentor engineers, manage client relationships, and contribute to marketing activities including technical writing and fee development. Excellent communication, written and organizational skills; strong leadership capabilities to work independently or as a lead on multi-discipline teams. Extensive knowledge of three-phase electrical power systems, protection and control design, settings development, and related engineering activities. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) and experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry design software (examples include PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPIPE, Revit). Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis. Experience with engineering power consulting or EPC firms. Active participation in HDR’s employee-owned culture and commitment to inclusion. What We Offer
