Senior Manager, Software Engineering, DevOps (Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering). Capital One is seeking DevOps Engineers to join a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on solving real customer problems and driving a major transformation. The Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) Technology division enables and evolves Capital One’s foundational cloud infrastructure, including observability, connectivity, resilience and availability. This position will lead the overnight operations for the Technology Operations Center (TOC), ensuring round-the-clock resilience and continuity for critical enterprise systems. TOC is the central command hub driving initiatives like Infrastructure and Application monitoring, Incident Management and Response, Cybersecurity Operations, and leveraging AI and automated solutions for Operational Excellence and Resilience Engineering across the Enterprise. What You’ll Do
Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with experience in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems Share passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal and external technology communities, mentoring other engineers, and occasionally coding or evaluating code Collaborate with digital product managers and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Ruby and Go, container orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, configuration management tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree At least 6 years of experience in DevOps Engineering At least 4 years of experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) At least 6 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience At least 4 years of experience in people management Qualifications: 9+ years of DevOps Engineering experience 6+ years of experience with coding and scripting (Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl or Ruby) 4+ years of experience in infrastructure design, implementation and delivery 3+ years of experience with monitoring tools (Splunk or Zabbix) 3+ years of experience with container orchestration services including Docker or Kubernetes 3+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries are for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refer to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on hours worked. McLean, VA: $225,400 - $257,200 for Sr. Mgr, Software Engineering Plano, TX: $204,900 - $233,800 for Sr. Mgr, Software Engineering Richmond, VA: $204,900 - $233,800 for Sr. Mgr, Software Engineering Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range for that location; actual salary offered will be in the offer letter. This role is eligible for incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives may be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
