General Manager - Denny's #7383 - Whittier, CA. Denny's is seeking a talented and highly motivated General Manager to oversee the restaurant operations, manage staff, achieve controllable profit goals, drive guest count growth, and lead sales-building activities at our Whittier, CA location. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Promotes Company Mission, Vision and Core Values. Willingly assists others without being asked. Prepares and interprets financial and operational reports, analyzes data and develops solutions to achieve operating goals. Directs restaurant operations with responsibility for guest service, brand standards execution and employee training. Achieves controllable profit and flow-thru goals by overseeing controllable costs and taking corrective action to reach targets. Ensures timely implementation, training and ongoing execution of corporate initiatives and marketing promotions. Develops Restaurant Managers and hourly employees through corporate training programs, individual development plans and coaching. Ensures all equipment and facilities comply with Brand Standards and government regulations; takes corrective action when required. Attracts, hires, onboards and retains the best hourly talent to meet staffing requirements and guest service standards. Proactively handles employee relations issues and deviations from Brand Standards; involves management and HR as appropriate. Develops and executes the local store marketing plan to build relationships with civic, business, school and professional organizations to drive sales and guest counts. Monitors and ensures proper security procedures to protect employees, guests and assets. Enforces sanitary practices for food handling, cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen, dining areas and restrooms. Maintains a respectful environment for guests and employees. Maintains compliance with all employment policies and Brand Standards, including all state, local and federal regulations. Follows management cash handling, inventory and other operational procedures as outlined by the employer. Completes all other tasks and duties as assigned. Employee Benefits

Minimum of 3 years experience in restaurant, hospitality or retail management; additional operations/leadership experience preferred. Associates or Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to work a minimum of 55 hours per week. Food Safety Manager certification required. Strong organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written). Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Respect for diversity and others. Proven problem-solving abilities and ability to handle high-stress situations. Ability to interpret financial statements and understand contributing factors. Identifies opportunities for improvement and implements corrective actions. Must be able to perform job duties of every position and multitask as needed. Ability to work weekends, holidays, evenings and additional shifts as needed; willingness to travel occasionally. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. with assistance; capable of moving items in various areas of the restaurant. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, lift and grasp; able to stand/walk for extended periods (10-12 hours as needed). Must be able to tolerate temperature variations in kitchen and storage areas.
