Overview
General Manager position for Denny's #9549, Clovis, CA with Denco Family, Inc. The GM reports to the Area Manager and is responsible for the overall restaurant operations execution, staff management, controllable profit plan achievement, guest satisfaction, and driving guest count growth and sales-building activities. Focus areas include employee selection, retention, continuous operational improvement, and a strong commitment to hospitality and guest satisfaction. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Promotes Company Mission, Vision and Core Values. Willingly assists others without being asked. Prepares and interprets financial and operational reports and schedules, analyzes data and develops solutions to ensure operating goals are achieved. Directs restaurant operations with responsibility for guest service, brand standards execution and employee training. Oversees controllable costs and takes corrective action to achieve profit and flow-through goals. Ensures timely implementation, training and ongoing execution of all corporate initiatives and marketing promotions. Develops Restaurant Managers and hourly employees through corporate training programs, individual development plans and coaching/feedback. Ensures all equipment and facilities comply with Brand Standards and government regulations; takes corrective action when required. Attracts, hires, onboards and retains the best hourly talent to meet staffing and guest service standards. Handles employee relations issues and deviations from Brand Standards; involves Area Manager and Human Resources as appropriate. Develops and executes local store marketing to build relationships with community organizations to drive sales and guest counts. Monitors security procedures to protect employees, guests and assets. Enforces sanitary practices for food handling and cleanliness of kitchen, dining areas, and restrooms. Maintains compliant employment policies and Brand Standards with state/local/federal regulations. Follows management cash handling, inventory, and other operational procedures. Minimum of 3 years of restaurant, hospitality or retail management; additional operations/leadership experience strongly preferred. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience. Ability to work a minimum of 55 hours per week. Food Safety Manager certification required. Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. Proficiency in English (oral and written). Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Commitment to diversity and respectful interaction with others. Proven problem-solving abilities and ability to handle high-stress situations. Ability to interpret financial statements and identify improvement opportunities. Must be able to perform duties of every position and multitask according to business demands. Ability to work weekends, holidays, evenings and additional shifts; occasional travel may be required. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license; must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and carry 50 lbs; able to stand for long periods and tolerate temperature changes in kitchen/freezer areas. Must be able to operate a point-of-sale system and work with Denny’s menu products. Must be able to observe staff and all aspects of restaurant operations. Note:
