The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary VP of Engineering to lead their technology organization through an ambitious next phase of growth. You are deeply technical and highly strategic - a technical MBA-style leader who can architect solutions, scale teams, and act as a true thought partner to the executive team. As their most senior technical leader, you will work hand‑in‑hand with Product, Business Development, and executive leadership to scale their engineering capabilities globally and drive platform innovation. This role demands a hands‑on strategist who can use their capital‑markets lens to translate vision into execution to deliver bold results. What You\'ll Do

Strategic Leadership : Act as a strategic thought partner to Product and Business Development teams, translating business objectives into scalable technical roadmaps Team Building & Management : Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team across multiple time zones and markets Technical Excellence : Drive architectural decisions and maintain high code quality standards while ensuring system scalability and reliability Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions that support rapid growth Hands-On Contribution : Roll up sleeves - whether conducting code reviews, troubleshooting critical issues, or contributing to key technical decisions Process & Culture : Establish engineering best practices, agile methodologies, and a culture of innovation within a fast-growing organization International Expansion : Lead technical initiatives to support global market expansion and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions About You

Experience : 10+ years in senior leadership roles Industry Background : Proven experience at a startup in RegTech, FinTech, or adjacent financial services technology Technical Depth : Ability to understand core technologies (C++, Python, MySQL, .NET) and cloud platforms (AWS) Leadership Skills : Experience building and scaling engineering teams from 10-50+ engineers in house and outsourced Strategic Thinking : Ability to balance technical debt, feature development, and scalability initiatives Scrappy Mindset : Comfortable with ambiguity and resource constraints of a small but growing team Communication : Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence at all levels Global Perspective : Experience managing distributed teams and international product rollouts What Sets You Apart
