Summary: We are seeking a
Structural Transmission Line Engineer
to support the structural design and analysis of high-voltage (69kV–500kV) transmission structures. This role will focus on the engineering of poles and towers, including loading analysis, foundation design, and structural optimization using industry-standard software such as PLS-POLE and TOWER. Responsibilities
Perform structural analysis and design of transmission line structures (wood, steel, and concrete poles; lattice towers) Develop structure loading diagrams and evaluate performance under various environmental conditions (wind, ice, etc.) Design structure foundations, including drilled piers and direct-embed foundations Produce and review detailed construction documents including framing drawings, loading diagrams, and foundation plans Collaborate with transmission line engineers, drafters, and project managers to deliver complete design packages Ensure designs meet applicable codes (e.g., NESC, ASCE) and client standards Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior structural staff Contribute to project planning, proposal development, and cost estimating efforts Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred) Minimum 5 years of structural experience in transmission line design SE required (registered in WA) Proficiency in PLS-POLE and/or TOWER; familiarity with PLS-CADD Strong knowledge of NESC, ASCE 10, ASCE 48, and other structural design standards Previous experience with utilities or power delivery consultancies preferred Fully remote role Competitive compensation Full medical, dental, and vision coverage Long-term project pipeline with top-tier utility clients Seniority level
