Overview
Shive-Hattery's Chicago office has an opening for an Electrical Engineer with 3 to 8 years of experience. This full-time position is for a motivated individual who already is licensed or plans on acquiring a professional engineering license.
We are looking for someone who thrives on the fast-paced nature of commercial projects and values working closely with other talented professionals dedicated to providing a great experience to our clients.
Responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an electrical engineering emphasis
Experience in 3D modeling, Revit preferred. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is desired
Collaborate with other team members and have good interpersonal skills
Communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Electrical design for building systems including power distribution, LED and custom lighting design, Life Safety Systems, as well as data/communications
Work in diverse markets including Industrial, Institutional, Commercial, Education, Government and Healthcare facilities
Work under the direction of a senior engineer towards the design and document production of building systems using 3D Revit modeling software
Visit project construction sites to assist with measuring, data collection and construction observation duties
Manage time and workload effectively, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to detail
Qualifications
Experience with design of lighting, power, and low-voltage systems desired
Graduated from an accredited engineering school in Electrical Engineering
Experience in Revit is preferred. A desire to learn Autodesk Revit is required
Have taken and passed, or intent to take, the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
