Overview

Full-time structural engineer position focused on commercial, industrial, healthcare, government, and education projects with emphasis on commercial clients. Responsibilities

Design projects as a structural engineer for commercial, industrial, healthcare, government, and education projects of various sizes with the main focus on commercial projects. Work with experienced engineers and technicians while coordinating work within multi-discipline teams. The majority of efforts will focus on commercial clients who we work with locally and nationally. Lead the structural design portion of small to medium sized projects, make design recommendations and decisions, and work with a senior engineer to oversee the completion and quality of construction drawings, specifications, reports, and other project documentation. Oversee shop drawing reviews and field data collection; manage multiple projects simultaneously. Collaborate with other disciplines and contribute to team efforts to create better solutions and better projects. Provide design solutions and communicate effectively with Owners; present design concepts clearly in writing and verbally. Qualifications

Professional Engineer licensure in Illinois or Indiana or the ability for immediate licensure in Illinois and Indiana. Structural design experience using concrete, steel, and masonry. Wood design is a plus. Willingness to travel short distances to job sites to evaluate existing buildings or observe current projects under construction. Experience and willingness to collaborate with other disciplines. Ability to manage time and workload effectively, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing work. Capable of delegating minor work to younger engineers or designers. Excellent attention to detail; strong oral and written communication skills. Experience using Revit, 3D software (Navisworks/Recap), structural engineering design software, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
