Ross Video . The Solutions Architect is a critical member of the North American Technical Solutions team. This role serves as a key technical resource, demonstrating expert-level knowledge of Ross Video's products and solutions. The Solutions Architect is responsible for scoping and designing complex technical solutions tailored to meet customer requirements across North America and within multiple verticals including traditional broadcast, government, education, corporate and house of worship. This position requires a unique blend of solution architecture expertise, customer-facing "soft" skills, and pre-sales experience. The Solutions Architect regularly interacts with prospects, partners, consultants, as well as internal teams—such as sales, product development, project management, and technical support—to ensure that the solutions specified are both supported and maintainable. Reporting : Manager, Technical Solutions – North America Responsibilities
Participates and contributes to sales opportunities driven by the Business Development Managers and Regional Sales Managers, prioritizing efforts based on maximizing total impact on the team's productivity. Design and review solutions based on technical RFP/Tender specifications. Develop and review highly customized, scalable solution architectures that address intricate customer specifications and set new standards for technical excellence in the Broadcast and Corporate industries, as they relate to signal processing. Coordinate closely with Ross' internal Sales team and business partners to design solutions to meet customers' business requirements. Engage in customer-facing product presentations, demos, training, and workflow guidance to end-users and business partners at customer premises or tradeshows. Pre-sales technical engineering and project management. Ensure the product line's sales and marketing follow the Ross Video Code of Ethics. Work on systems-oriented and highly technical projects. Create conceptual sales drawings that capture the spirit of specific opportunities while also creating general variations for use by other groups at Ross. Assist sales team during project discovery calls. Help to prepare world-class customer-facing proposal supplements. Act as a "Technical Evangelist" to help build trust and inspiration with our partners and customers. Provide client feedback to product teams regarding product & application requirements. Qualifications
College Degree in Production Technology or Engineering, Video Production, Broadcasting, or a related discipline (equivalent work experience in a B2B pre-sales engineering role or Solution Architect role will also be considered). 5+ years of combined sales, sales engineering, systems application, product specialist, or end-user experience. Deep knowledge of pre-sales engineering principles, methods, practices and techniques. Familiarity and demonstrated ability to navigate Request for Proposal and Tender documents. Strong understanding of Media Workflows, newsroom production workflow and content management systems. Working knowledge of graphics systems, playback servers, production switchers, video scalers, video routers, device control protocols, and their roles in various applications. Experience selling Broadcast & Live Product equipment and services (existing knowledge and use of Ross Video products preferred). Practical knowledge of the broadcast and live production industry, including familiarity with key components used in broadcast electronics applications, industry-standard protocols (including SMPTE 2110 IP and its implementation), product lines, key accounts, and competitors of Ross Video. Record of achievement and technical solution expertise in a customer-facing environment. Advanced skill set using Visio as well as AutoCAD. Experienced user of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and CAD, with a strong track record of producing complex technical drawings with consistency and accuracy. Proficient in both Desktop and Server Networking practices. Experienced user of commercial quoting platforms and sales tools, including CRM software (ideally Salesforce.com). Exceptional communication and presentation skills; written, in-person and virtually. Strong and creative problem-solving skills. Calm under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Strong organizational and communication skills across all mediums. Exhibits extreme attention to detail.
