We are looking for a Data & Analytics Leader to guide oil & gas clients through analytics, data governance, and modern data platforms. You will provide strategic leadership on how data and analytics can improve operations, increase agility, and drive transformation. This role involves governing the lifecycle of data assets, performing maturity assessments, and advising on tools and roadmaps to align data strategies with business objectives. This is a high-growth, high-visibility role with significant opportunity to shape digital and data strategies across the oil & gas sector. Your Key Responsibilities
Lead engagement delivery and manage client relationships on a daily basis. Develop resource plans and budgets for engagements, ensuring effective engagement economics. Define and execute the analytics and data governance strategy for oil & gas clients, aligning with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Develop and implement robust data governance frameworks, including policies, data stewardship models, roles, and accountability across the organization. Oversee Master Data Management (MDM), metadata management, and data cataloging practices to ensure data consistency, discoverability, and trust. Ensure compliance with data privacy, protection, and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), working closely with Legal, Security, and Risk teams. Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of analysts, engineers, and data stewards to deliver high-quality outcomes and maintain stakeholder confidence. Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective data architectures in collaboration with enterprise architects and IT to support business intelligence and advanced analytics needs. Oversee cloud-based data management platforms and technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, and Hadoop for ingestion, storage, and processing. Drive the design and implementation of analytical models, data pipelines, and visualizations to solve complex business problems and generate actionable insights. Leverage advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to enhance operational efficiency and reduce cost. Translate business initiatives into prioritized use cases with measurable ROI and manage delivery across multiple domains. Develop and champion data literacy programs, training, and change management initiatives to embed a data-driven culture across client organizations. Communicate analytical findings through dashboards and visualizations tailored to business and technical audiences. Build and maintain trusted relationships with client stakeholders across operations, IT, engineering, and executive leadership. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and oil & gas domain trends. To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have
We are looking for a blend of technical and interpersonal skills to drive impactful results. Your ability to build and manage relationships, coupled with strong analytical capabilities, is crucial. A bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in a quantitative or technical field with prior consulting experience. At least 8 years of relevant experience in data analytics, data governance, or data strategy, preferably in the oil & gas industry. Demonstrated success in deploying analytics solutions across upstream, midstream, and downstream oil & gas domains. Deep knowledge of data governance, data quality, stewardship, compliance, and policy creation. Experience in Master Data Management (MDM), metadata, lineage tracking, and data catalog tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation). Proficiency with data analytics tools and platforms: SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, Cognite, Palantir, Dataiku, or similar. Hands-on experience with big data and cloud platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, Hadoop. Ability to lead large-scale digital transformation engagements and manage delivery risk. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business domains. Mentoring mindset to develop high-performing data teams. Familiarity with regulatory and data privacy implications within the oil & gas sector. A valid U.S. driver’s license and willingness to travel to client locations as needed. Ideally, You’ll Also Have
Experience deploying data products in ESG reporting, operational efficiency, or safety compliance in industrial environments. Familiarity with data mesh concepts and decentralized data ownership. Certifications in Azure Data Engineer, Snowflake, Databricks or related platforms. Experience with Data Office Organization and IT Architecture. Familiarity with Digital Fluency and Hybrid Collaboration techniques. Strong emotional agility to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics. What We Look For
