A nationally recognized consultancy is seeking a
Senior Consultant
to join its South Florida Building Envelope team, based in Fort Lauderdale. This position offers the chance to work on technically challenging restoration and forensic projects across commercial, retail, educational, multi-family, and municipal sectors. The focus is on existing buildings - re-roofs, façade repairs, waterproofing, and complete restoration projects - not new construction. You’ll be part of a team known for its technical expertise, strong client relationships, and long-standing contracts across Florida. Compensation
Base pay range $130,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr Salary: Up to $130k base + bonus Responsibilities
Conduct visual building enclosure system surveys, moisture surveys, pre-design surveys, and property condition assessments. Perform forensic evaluations and investigations of building enclosure and roof components experiencing performance issues or failures. Carry out field testing of roofing, waterproofing, window, and curtainwall systems in line with ASTM, AAMA, TAS, and ANSI standards. Review construction documents, including architectural drawings, shop drawings, and submittals related to the building enclosure. Perform quality assurance site inspections of building enclosure and roof components to verify compliance with construction documents, manufacturer requirements, and industry standards. Prepare detailed technical reports documenting investigations, testing, and site observations. Undertake occasional in-state and out-of-state overnight travel. Essential Functions
In this role you will provide consulting, forensic evaluations, quality control testing, and inspection services for a range of structures, including commercial, retail, educational, multi-family, and high-rise projects. Candidates should have strong field and consulting experience, with an emphasis on building enclosure components and knowledge of construction industry standards. Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Education
7+ years of consulting experience in Building Enclosure, Structural, and/or Property Condition Assessments. Solid technical knowledge of building construction. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Higher education degree in a related field preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Remedial design experience relating to building enclosure/roof systems is a plus. Preferred Skills
Familiarity with wall claddings, windows, curtain wall systems, roofing, and waterproofing. Certification in boom lift operation (or willingness to obtain). Strong communication and client-facing skills. Strong technical report writing ability. Base salary up to $130k, dependent on experience. Performance-based bonus program.
