Position Summary
Our team is shaping Walmart’s next-gen cloud intelligence platform, blending AI with large-scale infrastructure. Principal engineers play a key role in setting vision, influencing adoption, and mentoring teams across the org. As a Principal MLE, you will lead the architecture and strategy of agentic AI platforms and AI-driven operations, guiding teams to deliver resilient, scalable systems that transform how Walmart operates its cloud and developer platforms. What you’ll do
Architect and build agentic AI platforms and Applications enabling autonomous execution and orchestration. Drive AI-powered observability and operation at enterprise scale. Define technical roadmaps for integrating LLM services with core infra. Mentor engineers, set standards, and guide cross-team initiatives. What you’ll bring Advanced expertise in
Python
(Go secondary) and distributed systems. Deep knowledge of
LLMs, agentic frameworks, and orchestration patterns . Proven experience with

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area, with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
