CGI is actively seeking a Director of Business Development to drive the growth of its Payments Solutions across the Americas. This strategic role is key to expanding our market presence and accelerating business success through collaboration, innovation, and market insight. This is a hybrid position requiring office presence two to three days per week at one of the preferred CGI office locations: New York City, Fairfax VA, Charlotte NC, Atlanta GA, or Miami FL. Your future duties and responsibilities Expand CGIs market presence by leveraging professional and personal networks to introduce the company to prospective clients. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities across new and existing accounts, driving sustained business growth. Lead strategic sales efforts, including proposal development, solution demonstrations, and executive-level presentations. Ensure successful delivery of client engagements by coordinating with global delivery teams and vendor partners. Contribute to strategic planning, including business strategy formulation, budgeting, and forecasting. Engage early in the sales cycle with senior client stakeholders to influence strategy and improve qualification and win rates. Position CGI competitively, differentiating its offerings in a crowded marketplace. Qualify opportunities effectively, focusing resources on high-probability bids to optimize effort and minimize costs. Align CGI solutions with client business challenges, creating compelling value propositions that drive new business. Develop and execute account and win plans, tailored to specific client needs and market conditions. Cultivate strategic partnerships that support business expansion and enhance solution delivery. Achieve annual targets, including Total Contract Value (TCV) wins and in-year revenue objectives. Collaborate with the Payments leadership team to share insights on pipeline activity, forecasts, and market trends.
Specialized Responsibilities in Payments Solutions
Product Presentations: Deliver impactful presentations of CGIs Payments Solutions to stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite executives. Demonstrate deep knowledge of payment schemes across the Americas, with a focus on the U.S. market. Coordinate with the Payments Solutions Offering team to ensure alignment with current product materials and roadmap. Proposal Management: Partner with local CGI Business Units to lead responses to client proposals. Ensure accurate product representation and adherence to financial modeling and pricing guidelines. Create tailored content using market insights, historical data, and collaboration with internal experts. Competitive Intelligence: Maintain a strong understanding of market competitors. Share insights with the Payments Solutions team to refine positioning and enhance the competitive edge of CGIs offerings. Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison for business development and stakeholder management across internal teams and client organizations. Represent CGI in industry forums, contribute to thought leadership, and participate in speaking engagements as needed. Product Strategy Alignment: Maintain close engagement with the Payments Solutions Offering team to relay market feedback, influence product development, and advocate for industry best practices.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
Proven expertise in business development, with a strong focus on strategic sales planning, execution, and consistently achieving new business targets. Demonstrated success in selling to financial institutions with revenues exceeding $1B, delivering measurable and profitable business outcomes. Over 8 years of deep experience in the payments sector, including active involvement in industry trade committees and working groups. More than 8 years of experience in transaction banking and wholesale payments, with a solid grasp of market dynamics and client needs. Strong business acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, P&L management, and navigating complex pricing structures. Highly self-driven and results-oriented, motivated by opportunities to drive growth and expand market presence. Strong leadership capabilities, including team management, motivation, and coaching to support business development efforts. Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and build long-term partnerships. Skilled in client engagement and relationship management, fostering trust and loyalty. Exceptional communication skillsboth verbal and writtenwith the ability to craft compelling proposals and deliver executive-level presentations. Strong analytical, decision-making, and judgment skills to support strategic initiatives and business growth. Location Requirement: Must reside near a CGI office. CGI provides a compensation range for this role. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $143,000.00 - $305,800.00.
