On the Membership Experience Engineering team, we provide technology to power shopping journeys for Walmart+ and membership experiences on mobile devices. Walmart+ is pioneering the way people experience online and in-store shopping. We are looking for an experienced engineering leader to help design and improve the customer membership experience and build scalable platforms on mobile devices. This is a critical role to shape the face of Walmart+. What You'll Do
Troubleshoot business and production issues for mobile devices by reviewing information (issue, impact, criticality, root cause) and engage support teams to resolve; perform root cause analysis across multiple devices to prevent recurrence. Develop innovative mobile technology solutions and strategies to support business objectives by collaborating with cross-functional partners; assess opportunities; benchmark practices; forecast technologies; drive high-priority initiatives; define software development guidelines, standards, and processes; influence decisions at all levels. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine project requirements and translate them into mobile solutions for iOS and Android; gather design documents and requirements; write and develop code (e.g., Java/Kotlin) for multiple devices; develop UI solutions; test functionality; communicate status; determine solutions to issues; enhance design to prevent defects; ensure on-time delivery; provide guidance on implementation plans. Remove barriers to performance; provide resources; set and measure performance standards; develop contingency plans; demonstrate adaptability and support continuous learning. Promote company policies, ethics, and integrity; train and direct others in their use and application; ensure compliance and support open-door policy. Evaluate ongoing effectiveness of plans and initiatives; consult with partners and stakeholders; solicit and apply suggestions for efficiency and cost effectiveness; participate in community outreach events. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area OR 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. 5+ years of professional experience in full stack software development (native mobile, web frontend, backend) with hands-on coding. Experience with a consumer-facing app and ecommerce or retail shopping; experience building scalable backend systems and platforms. Designing and developing advanced applications using Java; unit testing for robustness; collaborating with teams to ship features; experience with bug fixing and performance improvements. Experience with REST, JSON, data sources/APIs; Google Cloud Messaging; and Google Play APIs (Maps, Location, Cloud Messaging). Experience with Kotlin, Coroutines, MVVM (and related patterns), and modern mobile architectures; awareness of the full mobile development lifecycle; Agile/Scrum experience; Jira or similar tracking tools. Knowledge of accessibility best practices and WCAG 2.2 AA standards is preferred. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in related field and 1 year of software engineering experience (preferred). Background creating inclusive digital experiences and integrating accessibility standards into products. Primary Location
