Position Summary
On the Membership Experience Engineering team at Walmart, we provide technology to power shopping journeys that help hundreds of millions of customers live better. Walmart+ is pioneering the way people experience online and in-store shopping. We are looking for an experienced engineering leader to help design and improve customer membership experience and build scalable Web platforms. What you'll do
Troubleshoot business and production issues for Web application by reviewing and analyzing information (issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause, etc.); engage support teams to resolve issues. After resolution, perform root cause analysis across multiple Web browsers to prevent future occurrences. Perform a design and code reviews of proposed source changes. Implement innovative Web technology solutions by collaborating with cross-functional business partners. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine project requirements; translate requirements into Web solutions for front-end systems; gather information (design documents, product requirements, wireframes); write and develop code (e.g., React/Type Script) applicable to multiple Web browsers; develop user interface solutions; conduct testing to ensure functionality; communicate project status and roadblocks to team members and stakeholders; determine solutions to issues; enhance design to prevent defect recurrence; ensure on-time delivery; provide guidance on project implementation plans with project managers. Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating plans and priorities; removing barriers; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly. Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity; train and provide direction to others; ensure compliance; support the Open-Door Policy. Evaluate ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consult with business partners and stakeholders; solicit and apply suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; participate in and support community outreach events. Requirements
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3+ years of professional experience in full stack software development (native mobile, web front end, back end) with hands-on coding experience. Experience with a consumer-facing app and ecommerce or retail shopping. Hands-on experience building scalable backend systems and platforms. Experience designing and developing advanced Web applications; unit-testing code; ensuring robustness and handling edge cases. Experience translating wireframes into pixel-perfect views; knowledge of animation and screen transitions. Experience with Web frameworks, services, and background processing; remote data via REST/JSON; Google Cloud Messaging/Maps APIs; third-party libraries and APIs. Strong React, TypeScript, Next.js, server/client side rendering, reactive programming, and related architectures. Experience operating in an Agile environment (e.g., Scrum) and using tracking tools like Jira. Soft skills: team player, critical thinker, problem-solving, time-management, and strong communication. Willingness to collaborate with UI/UX Designers and Software Testers to ensure apps are presentable and in perfect working order. Preferred Qualifications
