Overview
Solution Architect (Commercial Insurance) This role is for one of Weekday's clients. Location: Chicago, Schaumburg, United States Job Type: full-time Responsibilities
Lead the design of end-to-end solution architecture across multiple systems, platforms, and technologies Act as the bridge between business and IT, translating functional insurance requirements into technical designs Work closely with underwriting, claims, and policy servicing teams to understand operational needs and pain points Define integration patterns with core systems (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek, Salesforce, PEGA), third-party data providers, and analytics platforms Provide architectural oversight during development, testing, and deployment phases Identify and mitigate technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and integration challenges Produce solution blueprints, technical specifications, interface designs, and data flow diagrams Participate in RFP responses, vendor evaluations, and technology strategy discussions Stay updated on industry trends in commercial insurance and emerging technologies (e.g., GenAI, low-code platforms, cloud-native apps) Required Qualifications
10+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in a Solution Architect role Strong techno-functional background with hands-on experience in architecture, design, and systems analysis Deep understanding of commercial insurance processes and products (e.g., workers' compensation, general liability, property, marine, E&S) Experience with policy administration, underwriting, claims, and/or billing platforms Strong knowledge of integration standards (REST, SOAP, APIs, microservices, Kafka) Familiarity with enterprise platforms like Guidewire, Duck Creek, PEGA, Salesforce, or similar
