Overview Contract duration: 12 - 18+ months

We are seeking a skilled CAD Design Engineer with strong expertise in Siemens NX for 3D modeling, drafting, and support of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) activities. The successful candidate will create and manage detailed 3D models and engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with design standards and accuracy for manufacturing and analysis purposes. This role also involves providing drafting support and assisting analysts in preparing geometry, mesh-ready models, and documentation for FEA simulations.

Key Responsibilities

Develop 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings using Siemens NX.

Prepare and maintain drafting documentation in line with project and industry standards.

Collaborate with engineers to ensure models are optimized for FEA studies.

Support the FEA team by providing clean geometry, simplifying models, and ensuring compatibility with analysis tools.

Manage design revisions, CAD file control, and configuration management.

Review and validate CAD models and drawings for accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance.

Work with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, and analysis) to resolve design and drafting issues.

Provide input on design improvements based on simulation results and manufacturability feedback.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or related field.

Proven hands-on experience with Siemens NX (3D CAD modeling and drafting).

Knowledge of FEA workflows (geometry preparation, meshing requirements, load/boundary condition considerations).

Experience in drafting standards (ASME, ISO) and GD&T.

Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems for CAD data management (e.g., Teamcenter).

Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, analysts, and manufacturing engineers.

Preferred Skills

Exposure to FEA tools (e.g., NX Nastran, ANSYS, Abaqus) is a plus.

Basic understanding of material behavior and structural mechanics.

Experience in automotive, aerospace, or heavy equipment design.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
