About the Role Join our legal team and take on meaningful responsibility from day one. In this high-impact role, you’ll work closely with and report directly to our General Counsel to support a broad range of commercial, regulatory, and strategic legal matters. You’ll advise on complex agreements—including technology licensing, marketing, and vendor relationships—and collaborate with outside counsel on intellectual property strategy, patent prosecution, and enforcement. This position offers growth with a clear path to transition into a management role within a year.
Key Responsibilities
Review, draft, and manage software licensing agreements, advertising services agreements, and sales contracts
Negotiate and draft a broad range of customer and vendor contracts, including software licensing, SaaS agreements, and statements of work for related services
Represent Wunderkind in interactions with external stakeholders, including regulators, partners, investors, and service providers
Develop and manage Wunderkind’s IP portfolio to ensure strong and strategic protection
Monitor regulatory developments and work with internal teams and outside counsel to manage legal and business risk
Advise on contract structures, legal risks, compliance, IP, business strategy, and internal approval processes
Support general commercial and risk management efforts, as well as HR matters and special projects as needed
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school; active license to practice in the state of New York
7+ years of relevant legal experience (in-house or at a law firm)
Strong negotiation and drafting experience across a range of commercial transactions, especially software and technology sales, SaaS, and licensing
Familiarity with U.S. and E.U. privacy laws and data protection, and compliance
Solid understanding of corporate governance and securities law
Ability to explain complex legal concepts and contract terms to business stakeholders and external partners
Excellent academic credentials and a proactive, business-oriented mindset
The base salary range for this role is $180,000 to $230,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each specific candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, applicable certifications, and geographic work location. This may vary depending on living location and market rate.
