Chief Engineer

Onni Group of Companies The Senior Maintenance Manager at Onni Fulton Market is responsible for maintaining the physical integrity and operational efficiency of the property. This role plays a key part in delivering a safe, well-maintained, and guest-focused environment by responding to maintenance requests, performing routine inspections, and completing both preventative and emergency repairs. The Engineer will work across multiple building systems—including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety—and use tools such as Yardi and BAS to support daily operations. This position requires flexibility, technical knowledge, and a strong commitment to service excellence in a high-rise, hospitality-oriented setting.
Responsibilities
Respond in a courteous and timely manner to all guests’ questions, complaints or requests.
Assist with daily property inspections and maintenance.
Provide on-call pager service when scheduled and perform emergency maintenance work when required.
Prioritize repairs or maintenance issues that may impact guest experience.
Complete general building and room repairs, painting, sheetrock work, and carpentry.
Perform preventative maintenance on building and equipment.
Complete ground work and custodial tasks as necessary.
Repair and/or replace plumbing systems, HVAC units, and electrical units; repair motors, pumps and bearings.
Utilize basic hand and power tools for general maintenance; check emergency lighting and fire safety equipment.
Change light bulbs, ceiling tiles and fixtures at appropriate heights; perform swimming pool maintenance as required.
Work shifts that may be changed to meet business and maintenance needs.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Chief or Assistant Engineer.
Prior experience in high-rise building operations.
At least 5 years of general maintenance experience.
Proficiency with building systems, including Yardi and BAS (Building Automation Systems).
Experience with HVAC systems, specifically heat pump systems.
Salary $38 - $41 / Hourly
