About This Role As part of Intersect’s Land Acquisition team, you’ll help secure the sites that make our renewable energy projects possible. You’ll support land campaigns across solar, storage, OGM, transmission, and data centers, contributing to every stage of the process—from early strategy and due diligence to negotiation, site control, and financial close. Your work will span GIS administration, contract oversight, budget tracking, and direct engagement with landowners and community groups. You’ll collaborate daily with Development and subject matter experts across the company, ensuring land acquisition efforts stay on schedule and aligned with project goals.

Team Overview The Land Acquisition team is responsible for site selection and control across Intersect’s diverse project pipeline, with a primary focus in the CAISO market. Our scope covers the full cycle of development, from early-stage strategy through to start of construction. We work closely with Development, Permitting, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Community Engagement to ensure that projects are positioned for long-term success. Joining this team means helping deliver the real estate foundation for gigawatt-scale renewable energy projects while developing skills across negotiation, strategy, and stakeholder engagement.

What You’ll Do

Support Site Control

Contribute to the land acquisition process from site due diligence through closing site control agreements in support of financing and construction

Help resolve title and survey issues to maintain project readiness

Administer negotiations for land agreements including leases, purchases, easements, and surface waivers

Coordinate Project Administration

Manage GIS tools, project trackers, budgets, and schedules to support acquisition campaigns

Maintain internal site control trackers and Power BI dashboards to provide progress updates across the organization

Assist in preparing and updating land acquisition budgets and executive materials

Oversee External Partners

Support the oversight of third-party land agents and document specialists, auditing reports and trackers for accuracy and compliance

Coordinate document workflows across multiple site control campaigns to ensure timely execution

Foster Relationships

Work directly with landowners and community groups to build trust and foster long-term positive relationships

Collaborate closely with Development and cross-functional teams to align land acquisition with project goals and permitting requirements

Provide ongoing support to the Managers, Director, and Head of Land Acquisition

What You’ll Bring

A bachelor’s degree in real estate management, finance, economics, or a related field—or equivalent experience

1+ years of experience in real estate, energy, management consulting, finance, or a related field

1+ years of project management experience with proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and workflows

Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage relationships effectively

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other modeling tools; familiarity with Google Earth and GIS software

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear updates and reports

Independent, self-directed work style with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Familiarity with land and environmental law, policy, or renewable energy is a plus

A passion for renewable energy development and advancing the clean energy transition

Willingness to travel up to 25% annually to project sites and landowner meetings
