The Legal, Compliance, Regulatory and Government Affairs department is a diverse team comprised of attorneys and other professionals providing high quality advisory and transactional support with integrity and objectivity across all parts of the organization. The team ensures an operating environment that minimizes legal, regulatory and reputational risks and complies with all laws and Corebridge policies and procedures. We are seeking an attorney well versed in the legal and regulatory issues impacting life insurance and annuity products. This position will report to a Deputy General Counsel. You will provide advice, counsel, and guidance with respect to the broad range of legal and regulatory issues within our Individual Retirement and domestic Life Insurance business. Responsibilities
You will work on various aspects of legal support for the Institutional Markets business of Corebridge Financial. Drafting and review of Reinsurance and reinsurance related agreements; advising on disclosure and conflict of interest practices; supporting due diligence including ceded and assumed reinsurance and CRTs and bilateral cross-border reinsurance. Support a mix of in-force book of business and strategic initiatives to grow the business. Collaborate with peers across Legal, Compliance and other control functions to ensure consistent approach across business lines and entities. Maintain and grow knowledge of the business to ensure adequate legal oversight and resources as needs evolve; advise on emerging legal issues. Minimum of 10 years of experience as a lawyer in life and annuity, reinsurance, in-house or private practice. Strategic thinking to plan, organize, manage and execute to achieve growth and change. Strong verbal and written communications skills aimed at delivering clear messaging and practical results. Self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, multi-task, and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and execution capability; problem-solving skills with a practical mindset. Ability to influence across organizational boundaries to build consensus among diverse stakeholders. Experience with a large multinational law firm and/or in-house legal department. Educational background including a B.A./B.S. and J.D. from an accredited law school; admission to at least one state bar (NY, TX, or CA preferred). Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $200,000 – $240,000 at the commencement of employment. The actual compensation offered will depend on location, skills, experience and other qualifications. The position is eligible for a discretionary bonus under the applicable incentive plan. Corebridge offers a range of benefits as part of the total compensation package. Work Location
This position is based in Corebridge Financial’s Houston, TX, Woodland Hills, CA or Jersey City, NJ offices and follows a hybrid policy, enabling a mix of office and remote work. Travel
