Patient Care Coordination Associate
plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient-oriented service in a clinical or front office environment. This position involves various clerical and administrative responsibilities associated with patient care, including greeting and checking in patients, managing phone communications, processing payments, and performing additional front office tasks in a fast-paced, customer-focused atmosphere. Key Responsibilities: Engage directly with patients and families in person or over the phone to complete the registration process by gathering patient demographics and health information while verifying insurance eligibility and benefits. Accurately enter and verify patient data in real-time using computer systems to ensure completeness. Collect necessary clinical information and manage referrals, pre-certifications, pre-determinations, and pre-authorizations based on insurance requirements. Verify insurance coverage and benefits, providing price estimates and updates as needed. Collect patient co-pays and discuss financial obligations in a clear, compassionate manner. Identify and address outstanding balances from prior visits, initiating collection efforts as required. Gather patient data and schedule appointments for necessary services post-hospital discharge. Respond to patient and caregiver inquiries related to both routine and sensitive subjects, always displaying compassion and respect. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED (or higher). 1+ years of customer service experience in a clinical, office, or phone support setting. Must be at least 18 years old. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Previous work experience in a Hospital Patient Registration Department or medical office. Familiarity with insurance reimbursement and financial verification. Understanding of medical terminology and insurance policies and procedures. Ability to perform basic mathematics for financial transactions. Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods (10 to 12 hours) while using Workstation on wheels and phone/headset. Note: The sign-on bonus applies only to external applicants.
