Patient Care Coordination Associate
plays a vital role in delivering patient-focused service in clinical or front office environments. Responsibilities include a range of clerical and administrative tasks essential for patient care, such as greeting and checking in patients, answering phones, processing payments, and managing necessary paperwork in a fast-paced, customer-centered clinical setting. Key Responsibilities: Engage with patients and families in person or on the phone to complete the registration process, collecting demographics, health information, and verifying insurance eligibility. Utilize computer systems to accurately enter or verify patient information in real-time. Gather and process necessary clinical information for referrals, pre-certifications, and insurance requirements. Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and prepare price estimates as needed. Collect patient co-pays and discuss financial responsibilities with patients compassionately. Identify and pursue outstanding balances from prior visits, ensuring collection efforts are handled sensitively. Collect data from patients and facilitate appointment scheduling with provider offices prior to hospital discharge. Respond to patient inquiries regarding routine and sensitive topics with empathy and respect. Generate and analyze patient data reports, addressing discrepancies and following up on issues as needed. Knowledge of insurance reimbursement processes and financial verification. Understanding of medical terminology and insurance policies. Basic math skills for financial transactions. Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
